Pangandaran Beach is located in the village of Pananjung Pangandaran District, about 92 kilometres south of Ciamis, West Java. The beach is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Southeast Asia, a relaxing place, and small town feel in Java. There are many advantages when compared to some other beach attractions, particularly in Java region. Some of those various features you can find such as:

Has a very gently sloping beach with clear water,
Beach with white sand and stunning skyline,

Pangandaran Beach
Pangandaran was first inhabited by several fisherman from Sunda tribe "the genuine people in West Java", the location was prefered because of calm tide making it easier for fisherman to fish. The word of "Pangandaran" is derived from two words, "Pangan" means food and "Daran" means immigrant. So it can be interpreted as a place to seek food for immigrants. When Raflesia flower was found in 1961, the beach became a conversation area and subsequently a Tourism Park in 1978 for its many recreation sports. Pangandaran Beach is a home for the Pangandaran National Park as well as hosts for many annual events, the particular events you can enjoy are the International Kite Festival which is anually held in July, the Boat Festival in August, the Fishing Championship in September.
Batu Hiu Beach
You can also enjoy the day by taking a stroll along the villages nearby to see the people perform their daily chores and to visit Green Canyon. Either way, go to Batu Hiu Beach (Shark Rock Beach) which will remind you of Tanah Lot in Bali or go to Pangandaran Waterpark which is one of the latest tourism spots in Pangandarann located on the edge of Lembah Putri Beach. There are also plenty of natural caves and some man-made caves built as bunkers by the japanese during the Second World War. At the top of the hill is a beautiful waterfall which drops directly into the ocean.
