If you want to see the
Grand Canyon, you don't need to go to Arizona (USA), because Indonesia also has its own "Grand Canyon". Located in
Kertayasa village,
Cijulang sub-district, Ciamis,
West Java. The original name is
Cakung Taneuh, which means a land bridge. It is because a 3 metres wide land bridge lies over Green Canyon, connecting
Kertayasa and
Batukaras. The name of Green Canyon itself was named by a French tourist, the tourist was so fascinated by the natural beauty and the green tosca river, this place has some similarities with Green Canyon in USA

Cijulang river is the aim of being the tunnel resembled the cave that was known as the Green Canyon Cave. As you arrive at the main entrance, there is a row of wooden boats popularly called "
Ketinting" lining up by the river. To hire a boat costs Rp. 100,000/boat with a capacity of 5 passengers. The boat will take you on ride down the river, splitting the clear green water and see green forest trees along the banks.

The flow of Cijulang river is long enough, you can swim in the cave by using the buoy, feel water that was felt to be cold and refreshing. By bringing diving equipment, stunning views of the notches are ready to be traced and explored, complete with a diversity of fish in the river. The scenery was incredibly beautiful when witnessing the
Palatar Waterfall in the Green Canyon Cave. Most noticeable about this place is kept very clean, no floating garbage or scattered snacks or cigarette wrapping.

NP: Avoid visiting the place during the rainy season because the place will be closed due to increasing water debit. The best moment instead, is during the dry season when the water turns perfectly into crystal clear green.
