Bangka Belitung is a province in Indonesia that lies on the
east of Sumatera, northeast of South Sumatera. Its province has 2 large Islands, Bangka and Belitung. There are still another small Islands around the two large Islands that can be found east of The Sumateran mainland and northeast of the province of South Sumatera. The Islands of Bangka Belitung are between the South China Sea in the the north and the Java Sea in the South. Bangka and Sumatera are separated by the Bangka strait, while the Gaspar Strait separates Bangka and Belitung. The richness of Bangka Belitung Island of the nature make it as a magnet for the tourists.
The main attraction of these Islands are the lovely long clean, with crystal clear turquoise blue seawater and pristine white sand beaches. This makes for fantastic swimming, diving, sun bathing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and snorkeling of off shore Islands. Downtowns are full of well preserved Dutch Colonial buildings. You also can find a Balinese countryside in the Island named "Giri Jati village", the village is complete with all of Bali culture, and the Bugis tribe. The bugis tribe can be found in the fishermen village at Tanjung Binga. But the orginal tribe of this Island is Melayu and Hakka chinesse.

Bangka Belitung has plenty of the most attractive beaches of the world. Some of them are
Matras Beach, considered as the best beach known "Heaven Beach". It is located in Sinar Baru village in the Sungailiat district on Bangka Island. Another beach that can attract alot of visitors is the Parai Tenggiri beach, located in the Sungailiat District. There are also luxury hotels and water sports facilities. The best product from Bangka island is Bankatin, known have a worldwide reputation amongst tin consumers all over the world, as the standard tin grade "A". You can also find some souvenirs such as white pepper or unique Bahar crafts, made of kind of seaweed that craftsmen transform into different kinds of products such as cigarette pipes, rings, bracelets, many more. Other interesting attraction in
Bangka Belitung is Tanjung Kelian Old Lighthouse and the Permali Hot Springs.

Belitung Island is also popular and known as world class beaches with its
granite boulder white stones beach located in Tanjung Tinggi,
Tanjung Kelayang,
Tanjung Binga and
Lengkuas Island. Belitung consists of around 200 smaller Islands surrounding the main Island. The beaches are absolutely stunning with coconut trees, pristine white powdery sand, and a clear turquoise seawater without any of the crowds that found on beaches elsewehere in Asia. Lengkuas Island is the site of the lighthouse made of iron cast in England. The lighthouse still functions today, to climd the top may leave a little short of breath. But once you get to the top, you can view the paradise of granite rocks, pure white sand and clear turquoise seawater.

It takes only 1 hour from Jakarta to the Islands by plane, other way you can take the Sea route by
PELNI passanger ship, then from the provincial capital which is
Pangkal Pinang, you can go to
Belitung Island by taking the daily Bahari speed boats that will take 4 hours.
